Hur står det till?

In Swedish class we learned that "Hur står det till?" translates into "How are you?"

I think we're all doing mycket brå! Class is fun and we're slowly picking away at the powerpoint presentation. We've had lots of contact with Christina in Sweden and today just found out our tentative itinerary (posted to the right).

Our First Swedish Class

Tonight was our first Swedish language class at the American Swedish Institute. Our instructor Jean makes the class really fun! We've already learned how to pronounce the Swedish vowels (how about that "ö" sound!?) and know that Sweden is called "Sverige" and that Gothenburg is actually Göteborg, pronounced something like "yuh-tay-boor".

It's freezing here right now. Many many degrees below zero F. We just learned that the Göteborg is more likely to be rainy rather than snowy, and won't be as cold as here because it's on the coast. :) So waterproof boots are a must!

We'll be having our team meetings after Swedish class now, every Monday. "Hej" means "hello" and "hej då" means "good-bye"!

Hej då!
