Midpoint

My notebook is nearly half full. That's good since we are half-way through our study trip! The worn appearance of our team's notebooks is a testament to the knowledge we have gained. We have been in Sweden for 2.5 weeks and we have met several people in Borås, Alingsås, Vanersborg, Trollhåttan, Uddevalle, and Ljungskille. From the people and the tours, we learned about Sweden's system of governing, health care, manufacturing, legal process, and home building.

Even though we will remain in Sweden for another 2.5 weeks, it is not too early to begin thinking about the presentations we will give when we return home. This consideration of what we have learned will help us organize the new facts we obtain during the next few weeks, I think.

The GSE program provides a vocational and cultural exchange. Last week I realized that our introduction to Sweden's history and social customs help us understand the government process and business practices. I have found that I have a more fulfilling vocational visit since I have a cultural and historical context.

  1. Hi! Fun to read your experience in Sweden. I used to live in Minneapolis but me and my American husband moved to Jönköping 3 years ago. We know a friend of a friend of yours. If you are going by Jönköping at all, let us know, it would be fun to meet you!
